Art Design Store UP! and new Art Jewelry on the way!

I have a new etsy store that is now up and running with just a few of my prints from my art, but I have big plans for this store! I've been toying with the idea of transferring my art images to polymer clay for custom, one of a kind art jewelry. My latest experiment has yielded this so far!

Soon I'll be adding Mother's Day package commission deals to my Art & Design Shop. I'd offer packages where, along with the price of a custom drawing, you can order a matching bracelet, necklace, prints, notecards, etc. For instance Mother's Day Commission Package Plus One would allow you to choose one item from the list, Mother's Day Commission Package Plus Two would choose two items, etc. I'll offer similar package details for commissioned graphic and design pieces as well.
The drawing shown is one of my youngest daughter that I did of one of her baby portraits that I took when she was about 3 months old.

Children of the World!

I've added a new collection of jewelry that I call 'Children of the World."  The set features 3/8" beads and slices of millefiori faces with translucent backgrounds.  The coordinating items are wonderful swirled lentil beads and earrings made from the scraps from the face canes.  The items are warm and soft and subtle enough with the rich beige, tan, and brown flesh tones to be worn with any items.  These make a wonderful gift for any teacher or can be customized with faces to represent family children for any mother or grandmother.  I currently have the bracelet set featured above in 7.5" and 8.5" for sale at my online Jewelry Shop, along with the lentil earrings listed separately.  I will soon be adding chain bracelets with 12 wonderful mixed faces, drop and post earrings featuring each of the faces, and necklace sets.  Please look for more wonderful pieces in this beautiful collection that has become my favorite endeavor so far.

Iowa - would've thought it?

I'm very pleased to announce that I now carry a collection for the Dallas Center - Grimes Community School District.  In order to start production on a new school line of products, I generally require a 'seed' order - a $50-100 order to cover the cost of materials.  The rest is just time, which I invest with the hopes that the school can use my products for fundraising or just to enhance school spirit.  With the economy, budget cuts, and the endless hours that schools give to our children at a cost that should be priceless, it's the least I can do to give back.  I hope y'all in Grimes enjoy the new creations and use them with much Mustang spirit! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve you!

LOOK BOSS! The canes, the canes!

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the things I have on my to do list, but one more is finally checked off!

When I make my face beads, they have no background material, so I have to stretch the canes to reduce them to the size I use.  That always leaves a bit of tapered end material that is unusable unless I completely mash the faces.  I picked up some translucent clay - I used a mixture of fimo effects white transparent and premo translucent - and surrounded the ends with it, making sure it was thicker at the thicker end, then rolled it gently into usable 1/2" canes.  I'm keeping a bit to play with for some jewelry designs I have in my head, but have put the rest up for sale on my etsy store.  I'd love to see what the talented polymer clay artists out there can do with my designs!
